Our Pastoral Leadership
AND I WILL GIVE YOU PASTORS ACCORDING TO MIND HEART, WHICH SHALL FEED YOU WITH KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. - JEREMIAH 3:15 KJV
BISHOP J. GREGORY THORPE

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. -1 Corinthians 15:58

“Only What You Do For Christ Will Last"

Bishop J. Gregory Thorpe is a native New Yorker who spent the majority of his life in Mt. Vernon, New York.

After years of work in the field of Sociotherapy, he discovered a passion for teaching. For over 16 years he has worked as educator at the elementary through high school level. He firmly believes that a definitive way to ensure a better future is to impact the lives of our youth. To that avail, Pastor Thorpe holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with dual certification in Elementary and Special Education; a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education; and a certificate in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Bishop Thorpe answered the ministerial call soon after marrying his friend, Vancy C. Jackson in 1992. Salvation and Deliverance Church immediately became his church home and he was ordained a minister in 1994. The Lord continued to elevate him and he accepted the responsibility of Elder in 1998 and by then was also serving as the leader of Salvation & Deliverance Youth Ministries Worldwide. In 2001, under the leadership of Apostle William Brown, he was ordained into the office of Bishop. Bishop Thorpe also served on the Board of Directors, as a choir director, and an instructor for the Saint Paul Bible Institute.

In 2010 Bishop Thorpe began another chapter in his service to God when he accepted the call to Pastor and founded Victory Tabernacle of Deliverance in Westchester County, NY. At the core of Pastor’s vision for the ministry is outreach to heal and uplift men and families, and serve as a positive change agent for the community.
Above all his accomplishments, Pastor loves his family and is joined in ministry by his wife, Lady Vancy Thorpe, and their three beautiful daughters “Daddy’s Girls” – Victoria, Jazmyn and Maiya.
EVANGELIST VANCY C. THORPE

First Lady Vancy C. Thorpe was born and raised in Bronx, New York. Her modest childhood, as one of six children has given her a rare appreciation for family and taught her to cherish all that God has blessed her with. She takes seriously, and serves proudly in the many roles in her life. She is a wife, mother, friend, worshipper, encourager, and now First Lady of Victory Tabernacle of Deliverance.

Her passion and ministry for helping people is evident even in her career. After many years of work in customer relations for various corporations, Lady Thorpe transitioned to the medical field where she supports and prepares patients awaiting organ transplants. She is an advocate for good health and believes firmly that no one should be denied access to care or equal treatment in service.

After years of preferring to work in support of ministry at the Salvation and Deliverance Church, Lady Thorpe finally accepted the call on her life and was ordained an Evangelist in June 2000. She realizes that God has a great work for her to do and she no longer walks in fear of failing Him. During her 22 years at Salvation and Deliverance, Evangelist Thorpe was a long standing member of the Radio and Television Choir, wrote and directed her first play “He Had Mercy,” attended the St. Paul’s Bible Institute, served as Counselor for New Converts, Director of the Youth Choir and worked closely with the Youth Department.

Lady Thorpe is the proud wife of over twenty years of marriage to her husband, Pastor J. Gregory Thorpe and adores their beautiful daughters - Victoria, Jazmyn and Maiya. Service to God is priority in her life, however, her love and dedication to her family is a responsibility she does not take lightly. Her desire is to continue to be an example for her daughters as well as those young ladies that the Lord will direct to the ministry. Lady Thorpe’s main aspiration is that God will get the Glory out of her life.
I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
